Arena History  

Southeastern Arena is located along Interstate 75 in Unadilla, Georgia, Dooly County, approximately 135 miles south of Atlanta. While the community is predominantly rural, the facility is accessible and highly visible from the Interstate, and a strong agricultural economy exists. Dooly County also takes a proactive approach toward economic development, and grants and incentives for new and expanded businesses are generated through the Crisp-Dooly Economic Enterprise Zone. The area also boasts ample hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality-related services to support large shows at the Arena.

Southeastern Arena is a 128,000-square foot show facility situated on over 30 acres of prime, visible land. The property includes a 250’ by 250’ show arena with bleachers, restrooms, and a restaurant. Attached to the arena is a 250’ by 250’ covered stall building in the rear, and a 30’ by 80’ climate controlled office and retail facility is attached at the front of the building. Additional stall buildings are available on-site for larger shows, and there are forty-five 35-amp RV hookups at the facility, with more planned for the near future.

In the summer of 2006, Southeastern Arena was acquired by Leonard Gorsuch and Robert Hamilton, two individuals interested in developing the property into a regional and/or national venue for horse shows, barrel races, rodeos, and other related events. The partners have since begun a major renovation and expansion of the property with the intention of creating a show facility that is recognized throughout the southeastern United States and beyond. Key among their goals is not only to attract shows of all sizes on a monthly and even weekly basis, but also to expand the services offered at Southeastern Arena to include retail sales of products and services pertinent to the horse and cattle industries. These may range from weekend booths on a show-to-show basis to year-round on-site sales centers for various products.
